Yes, you absolutely should invest in a videographer for your wedding

It's been over two months since we tied the knot and it all felt like a beautiful distant memory... until last night, when we watched our wedding video.

Weddings are expensive; all the planning, all the expenses and its all over in a couple of hours. I can however say that getting a videographer was the best investment that we could have made.

Our videographer, Jonty was extremely professional and a bit of a ninja... he was nowhere but everywhere the whole wedding; you didn't see him or notice him but he captured every moment.

We received a 3 minute summary (that we have already watched 6 times) as well as a 2 hour video with the whole ceremony, the reception and the HUGE party.

It really is awesome to watch the night again- you miss so many things will all the emotion, all the hype- it was all over so quickly I could hardly remember speaking to anyone.

Dyl and I were in hysterics for 2 hours watching all the things that we had missed or forgotten. Having photos is also really great to bring back memories and all of that, but having a video allows you to literally relive the entire night and I would recommend it to anyone planning a party, a wedding or any other big event.

Jonty was very professional and got every angle of the wedding without anyone even noticing that he was there. He charged us R7000 for 6 hours of filming and the editing. He was well worth every penny.

The Other women- My unprofesh' movie opinion

We went on a 'date night' on Sunday and I put my foot down; Chick flick was a no-negotiation decision- and it turned out to be very good decision too.

'The Other Woman" stars Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann (From 'This is 40') and is totally hysterical from start to finish. The cute tiny one finds out that her husband is having an affair with the tall sexy blonde one and instead if the plot going into depression or murder it turns into a hysterical (Probably abnormal) story of friendship.

Ladies, you can totally take your man to see this one- he has more than enough hot chicks to look at and don't worry, Taylor Kinney (Star from Chicago Fire) is totally gorgeous and charming for you- totally shocked when I read that he was dating Lady Gaga and they are now engaged??? Have you ever!

Anyway- The movie was a total mood booster and tummy muscle worker and I suggest you all go spend your hard earned cash on it! Speaking of hard earned cash- I decided to be a little sneaky to save some of that money... I would much rather throw my money at Hunks like Taylor so instead of watching a pirate copy of the movie at home, I decided to spend my cash on the actors- but save my cash on the snack. I snuck in water and air popped popcorn- saved on calories and on cash- oh the joys of having a handbag!

What makes a frozen yoghurt, a frozen yoghurt?

In my quest to savor an hour a day and use it to the fullest, today I decided to try another lunch spot within close proximity to my office. 2.4 km seemed slightly far to walk but in hindsight I'll just walk really fast next time... (Parking is expensive)

I visited the Food Market on the Wharf. Let me just say that the Earth Fair Food Market that I visited yesterday beats this market hands down (I think I'm going to have trouble trying to beat that market) but the V&A market is still definitely worth a visit- especially for a midweek work lunch.

I already had the left over Zucchini pasta for lunch so it was more of just a walk around but there are plenty of delicious looking dishes to choose from. The two that caught my eye were the Pad Thai (for only R35) and the Pizza looking flat bread (Which looked well worth the R50).

The market is indoors, with half the stores in a double volume warehouse setting that is pretty cool. Upstairs you will find a few more food stalls, a very cool area to sit on cushions on the floor and a great little pub. There is also a TV at the pub screening sport so I'm sure this will be very popular for lunch time viewings of the soccer world cup in the upcoming months.

There is also a very cute, very European looking Crepes and Pancakes store- I just couldn't face the post pancake guilt so I decide to lie to myself and have a 'healthy' frozen yoghurt. I asked the lady, "Whats the difference between frozen yoghurt and Ice-cream?" She Said "It's a family secret"- Ok? Whatever that means- But it was pretty damn good. (R35)

What's also nice about visiting the Food market is that 50m away is the craft market. If you have had a really heavy day you can have a reflexology treatment or a 30 min massage for R200- I think ill try this after pay day.

The Market is open from 9 to 5 and there is free wifi and ample seating :)

Frikken Delicious Low Calorie, low carb Zucchini Pasta

I don't change my diet once a week, not even once a day... I literally change it by the meal- as in daily! I frikken love good healthy food so tonight I opted for a vegetarian, low-carb pasta.

I'm no cook; my husband can vouch for that, but I was feeling creative tonight and it turned out amazing!

You will need the following (Serves 2):

6 large zucchini's
3 small green onions (Chopped Finely)
2 small green chilies  (Chopped Finely)
1/2 tsp crushed garlic
1/2 tsp lemon zest
squeeze of fresh lemon
1 cup baby tomatoes
2 Tbls basil pesto
basil leaves
1/2 an avo
1tsp butter
A small stick of cucumber
Parmesan cheese

 For the sauce:
Fry the chopped onions, garlic and lemon zest in the butter. Then add the baby tomatoes.
Fry until the baby tomatoes split open slightly. Put that mix into a bowl to cool.

Then slice the zucchini into thin spaghetti type strips- if you have that shredder thing, lucky you- I had to put a lot of love into this...

Then flash fry the zucchini in a hot spray and cooked pan. You have to let it cook enough to loose that veggie-raw-zucchini taste but not too much that it starts to go brown... keep tasting, you'll know when its done. Add a squeeze of lemon while cooking.

Then add the sauce and the noodles together.

Mix in about 1/2 cup of chopped cucumber, 1 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese, 1/2 avo and fresh basil leaves.

Only 1000kj per serving.

Enjoy!

My visit to the Earth Fair Food Market- A great way to spend your lunch break

Don’t get me wrong… I absolutely love my job; I work in a great office, with great people, for an awesome brand, in the best industry (travel)- but sometimes you just need a break- and an hour lunch break does the trick!

I am a firm believer in taking a lunch break away from your desk and if you mission you can make an hour go a long way. I love to get those admin heavy chores out of the way; buy birthday presents, collect stuff from the dry cleaners, go to the bank - so that your weekends are admin free.

That hour can however also help you to clear your head, and put a happy ‘spike’ into your day, not to mention scout Cape Town for some awesome food. I’ve made it my mission; at least twice a week I’m going to find a delicious, (affordable) awesome place to go for lunch- today, was first time, very lucky.

I missioned 1.1 km from Cape Quarter to Green Market Square (a 10 minute walk), where every Thursday the square is host to the Earth Fair Food Market. This market takes Cape Town back to its roots; in the old days, the farmers would pick fruit from the company gardens and sell it to the sailors that dock in the harbour- ok so I’m no sailor but I sure did enjoy the large helping of vegetable curry and rice for only R45.

It took me about 20 minutes to decide what to order. Everything looked so delicious and most things are very well priced. You can get a delicious brie and bacon roll for R25, a gluten free quiche for R15, or Paella for R60. I decided to opt for a healthy, hearty Vegetable curry and I was super impressed; you could taste it was fresh and made with love.

There is an awesome vibe around the square, lots of people (Great for people watching), live music, lovely food and really a great way to clear your head- all well within a 1 hour lunch break.

Hint Hunt- It's fun, It's Indoors and you really gotta use your brain!

Hint Hunt- It's fun, It's Indoors and you really gotta use your brain!

So its winter in Cape Town and we are trying to find activities to do that don’t involve the beach (because it’s cold) or eating and drinking (‘cos we don’t want to get fatty), so we decided to try out Hint Hunt at the Biscuit Mill in Woodstock.

We had heard about it from some friends- they didn't tell us too much about it so we really had no idea what to expect.

On arrival you get put into a small room and get your briefing from a video. So this is what we knew from the briefing- we would get put into a room (no idea how big) for 1 hour; the aim of the game- to solve clues and to escape the room in as little time as possible.

Groups can be between 3 and 5 people; I did it with my sister, my husband and a friend.  Thankfully we didn't fight (As we have been told the game can bring on some very heated (funny) family fights with all the excitement). There were however a lot of squeals of excitement, triumph and panic- and we made it out of the room with 2 minutes to spare.

The cost ranges depending on group size but is around R135 per person. Book online ahead of tine at www.hinthunt.co.za and arrive 15 minutes early.

This is the most fun we've had (away from wine) in a long time and I would recommend it to anyone from families to company team building activities.

I can’t wait for the new ‘Asian Room’ that they are busy putting together!

Remember. .. Communicate. Look around. Listen. Don’t over-think it.
